Meet Kristy

Hi There!

I am a very personable kind of person so this is me, Kristy Aitken, founder of Maple Weddings and Events.

A bit about me- Having sold my hugely successful recruitment agency in Brisbane City (If I can toot my own horn!) I uprooted my family from the city & headed to the hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Having studied Events & Venues Management along with a business degree I opted for a career change and was offered a role as venue manager at a prestigious DIY hinterland wedding venue in Maleny.

My original vision for Maple Weddings when founded in 2018, was to offer wedding planning services only. In just a very short time I recognized that couples prefer convenience so with this in mind & my apt nature to be busy I expanded very quickly! Building up an extensive hire range collection we can now offer beautiful styling designs & concepts with our very own hire collection.

My dream happened because of my beautiful family. I am wife to my husband Scott, after almost 20 years of marriage & we have  2 gorgeous girls aged 13 & 10. My family, friends & industry peers would all say I am fun! I am often known as the energizer bunny as I just keep going. I love to be busy! If I am not busy I am bored and that could mean trouble!!

I have been so thankful to all the couples who have entrusted us over these few short years & super excited to help many more. If I am honest I am a realist. I love seeing that my dream is now a reality & want to share this with all our amazing couples & ensure your dream wedding is a reality.

Meet Naomi

As I have grown & expanded the business so quickly I knew I needed help. That’s when Maple Weddings welcomed, Naomi Schremmer in its very early days.

Naomi is our lead stylist in which she will be bringing your vision & concept to life. Naomi’s strength is her creativity in which she can create a concept for you or work with your own ideas & bring your vision to life.

Naomi has event management quantification’s along with years of experience working with various event companies on the Gold & Sunshine Coasts.

Naomi is also married to a Scott – as you can imagine it gets confusing when both of us are married to a Scott! They have 3 children aged 16, 9 and 7.

When Naomi isn’t busy creating styling concepts & helping me with coordination she is running her new mobile bar- The Tipsy Mare.

Naomi likes to have fun too! So as you can imagine a lot of fun is had here at team Maple! Naomi always arrives with a smile on her face & is extremely efficient, a team player & super passionate about making your day/event one to remember.

I always say it- but I couldn’t do it without her!

Meet Maegs

Maegan affectionately known as Maegs joined team Maple in September 2022. Maegs is our Maple Junior. You will see her on-site planning with Kristy or with Naomi setting up. We are now offering on-the-day coordination packages solely with Maegs as our junior package.

Maegs grew up in WA and is loving sunny QLD and is now also engaged herself. Maegs has always had a soft spot for weddings and instantly fell in love with the industry after learning the ropes with Kristy and Naomi.

Maegs comes from a hospitality background, having managed cafes, and assisted with functions at the Brisbane convention centre and GOMA for multiple years.

Maegs is a dedicated team member with Maple and is super excited to be helping couples on their day.

Outside of work Maegs enjoys nature, reading, dancing, hanging with her fiancé and seeking new adventures!

Meet Scott

Scott, husband to Kristy of 20 years, is the muscle for team Maple.

For over 20 years Scott was a qualified carpenter however has recently given up his ‘career’ to focus on his new business- a driving instructor! This allows a bit more freedom and time to be able to help the ladies at Maple Weddings.

Scott is the lifter, packer and tetris guy. He gets everything to and from the site and doesn’t mind a spot of cleaning. Even better, he fixes any damaged goods that come back. Handy knowing a carpenter!

Scott is an integral part of Team Maple.
